As you get ready to sell your home, you've probably thought about staging the interior. Perhaps you've cleaned out, moved things to storage, and tidied up closets. However, one area that often gets overlooked when putting a home on the market is the front yard. We've got a few tips on how to add curb appeal to your home.

how to add curb appeal to your home

This for sale home at 360 High Desert Road has a xeriscaped front yard.

First, tidy up the yard just as you'd tidy up your home. Pick up any loose sticks or limbs lying around, rake up leaves, and neaten up any plants that have gotten "scraggly."

Next, take a step back (or even across the street) and survey your home with the eye of a potential buyer. What might they see? Are they going to notice the shutter that needs painting? The almost-dead rosebush in the corner? These small details can make all the difference! Give your shutters a fresh coat of paint if they need it, wash the windows, and get rid of dead or dying plants.

When looking for easy tips on how to add curb appeal to your home, one of the best is by adding some plants. Head to your nearest nursery and pick up some colorful hanging baskets and hardy annuals like pansies for early spring, petunias for summer, and mums for fall. These pops of color on your front walk with make any home look more appealing!

Finally, make sure the grass is freshly mowed and weeds are taken care of either by hand or with a weed killer.

Taking just a few hours to make sure your home's curb appeal is as enticing as its interior will help you sell your home faster! If you're ready to list, call us today at (970) 445-1471.
