Small Kitchen Ideas
Dated: June 16 2022
Perhaps you've recently found the *almost perfect home to buy or rent. It's got the right amount of rooms, some outdoor space, and it's near work. However, the kitchen is smaller than you'd prefer. How can you make the best of a small kitchen space? We've got some small kitchen ideas that can help.
If possible, keep as much off the counters as you can. Is there an extra closet nearby that can double as "pantry" space? Are there appliances you don't use often that you can tuck away under a bed or in the back of a cabinet?
Is there space above the cabinets and refrigerator? Can you add baskets or bins and neatly store little-used items there? Is there wall space for adding open shelves? Even those can help you find space, not on the floor or counters, to store spices, mugs, utensils, etc.
You may find, as you move in and unpack, that there is much you don't need. If you can declutter a bit of your kitchen extras you will gain space for the items that are important.
Can you add a small rolling cart between your kitchen and other rooms in your home? If so, this is a great way to add extra space. Many use rolling carts for microwaves, but you can also use it for added prep space, your coffee area, or as a place to hold your stand mixer and baking ingredients underneath.
You may have to think outside the box with your small kitchen space. Perhaps you have room for a tiny 2-person cafe table but not a full-sized dining table. If you have counter space you can add a few bar stools to gain some seating.
You may be able to add some hooks or even a pots/pans ring over the stove. If so, you can gain a ton of space this way!
We hope these small kitchen ideas help you when it comes to finding a place for all your things in your new home!
