Downtown Grand Junction Living
Dated: December 28 2021
Of the many areas of Grand Junction to live in, one of the most vibrant and unique is the downtown Grand Junction area. Downtown Grand Junction living means living close to Main Street, recreational trails, and much more.
First, technically "Grand Junction's" city zip code is 81501. That includes the downtown area. For the sake of our article, we'll be focusing mostly on the area of North Avenue to the Riverside Parkway, 1st Street to 12th Street.
Living in this area means you can bike to events downtown like the Farmer's Market or music festivals. You won't have to search for or pay for parking!
The downtown area is also close to the Riverfront Trail. From 7th street it's easy to head south to the Botanical Gardens and pick up the paved trail. The Riverfront Trail runs all the way from Palisade to Loma, so getting in a long bike ride, right from home, is easy!
The homes are unique. You'll find many older Victorian homes in the downtown area. These homes usually have a small yard and are each quite distinctive. Beautiful details, inside and out, are to be found in these homes.
You're close to recreation like the Lincoln Park Pool or Golf Course and the Watson Island Disc Golf Course.
Finally, the variety of restaurants in the downtown area is impressive! From upscale locally sourced bistros like Bin 707 to casual pizza and sandwich joints like Kannah Creek, you'll find something for everyone.
