Orchard Mesa is a neighborhood in Grand Junction, Colorado. In fact, it is the OLDEST inhabited area of Grand Junction.  Located on the south side of the Colorado River, Orchard Mesa is a growing community with lots of ammenities and affordable homes. The eastern end, known as "East Orchard Mesa" resembles Palisade, with wide sweeping views, orchards, vineyards, and river views.  The western end also has river views and is more urban, with most of the shops and restaurants in the area located on that end of the community.

Here are 5 reasons to consider Orchard Mesa for your next home:

Chipeta Golf Course is located on Orchard Mesa. This delightful "executive" course is shorter than a standard 18-hole course, with all par-3s and 4-s, but don't let that fool you, it's a challenging course!

Part of the Old Spanish Trail is also located here. You can bike or hike both the Old Spanish Trail and Gunnison Bluffs trails from an Orchard Mesa Trailhead.

3. You'll find plenty of great restaurants on Orchard Mesa including the Tropix Hawaiian BBQ restaurant, several Asian restaurants and more than one Mexican restaurant!

4. Proximity: Hwy 50 runs right through Orchard Mesa, so traveling from here is easy.  You can head south to Delta/Montrose, east towards Glenwood Springs, or west to Utah quite easily from here.

5. Access to downtown and the riverfront trail: At the old Orchard Mesa Middle School and current Eagle Rim Skate Park, is an access trail to the Riverfront Trail. Dropping down the hill and onto the pedestrian bridge provides users with this view of the Colorado River:

From here you can bike east or west, or head straight to downtown. What a great way to end the day: bike down to Edgwater Brewery, located right off the Riverfront Trail for a great beer and burger!
